Today, we had a great turnout! Lime was added to the raised beds & mixed in.
Below is a picture of our leader, Doug Hilton, hard at work. Doug & Phil's (Phil R. not shown in photo) involvement in the
gardens adds a whole new dimension to our outreach. Doug has agreed to
oversee the gardens and has been instrumental in obtaining new sponsors,
building the beds and organizing the Master Gardeners to assist in the
gardens. Phil has helped build the beds and will present several training
sessions regarding gardening in raised beds. They are tremendous assets
to our garden.
What's left to do in the remaining weeks before our Spring Kickoff/Gardening Class March 9th? General cleanup & addition of Chat (gravel) around raised beds.
Thanks to all who came today and thanks to local businesses who are lending a hand: Vulcan (who gave discounts on lime and chat), and Small Miracles horse barn (who gave us compost). Thanks to Nancy for these pictures.
